Major Technological Breakthrough!

Recently, China ENFI has achieved a major breakthrough in the efficient gold extraction technology for highly arsenic and carbon-bearing refractory gold ore. The improved pressure oxidation (POX) pretreatment coupled leaching technology independently developed by China ENFI has been applied in a project, pushing the gold leaching rate above 95% — outperforming conventional processes by a wide margin. Thanks to this technology, the project can recover an additional 15% of gold annually.

Over two-thirds of gold deposits worldwide are classified as refractory gold resources. After long-term theoretical research and lab testing, the hydrometallurgy R&D team of China ENFI established the “POX + special synergistic leaching” technology and reagent system. The team’s proprietary reagents solve the challenge of efficient mineral dissociation, fully exposing and leaching encapsulated gold in refractory ore and lifting the gold leaching rate of such refractory gold ore to over 95%. The technology has been validated in bench-scale and pilot tests using ore samples from multiple mineral sources at home and abroad.

This new technology by China ENFI features a simple process flow, low energy consumption and no hazardous waste generation. It lays a solid foundation for the green, high-efficiency and low-cost industrial production of refractory gold ore, and holds great application potential for refractory gold ore projects with high arsenic and carbon content across the globe.
